Show 102
Hello all! November 9!!!! I just can't believe that the time is flying by so fast, where did this year go???
Just a reminder to all of our new site "Gingersnap and Friends"...it is a site that you can list your crafts and supplies for sale and will be opening on November 15! We sure hope that we will see you there. Please contact Brenda at info@primsisterstalkradio.com with any questions you might have, she would be delighted to answer any and all inquiries. Ü
Today Lucy will be talking about "Snowman Ideas" and hopes to help inspire you with loads of ideas.
Brenda, Vicky and Lucy are more than happy to share their ideas and answer any of your questions during the show and on the live chat as always.
Do you do a lot of baking for Christmas? Maybe this year you could do a snowman theme...there are so many things that you can do in snowmen....
- Bake a cake in 2 or 3 round pans. They can be 2 layer cake pans or other round baking dishes. Line a board with tin foil and place your rounds together as a snowman, frost with white icing and decorate your cake with black jelly beans for eyes and buttons, orange candies for the nose, use coconut for texture, marshmallows for arms, get creative with licorice strings, dust with icing sugar for snow.
- Bake cupcakes and decorate as above for snowman faces.
- Roll your round rolled cookies in icing sugar before baking and make into snowballs.
- Roll sugar cookies and cut with snowman and snowflake cookie cutters and decorate and sprinkle with sugar.
- Decorate your plates with paper lace doilies to look like snowflakes and place your goodies on them.
You can also decorate your plates inexpensively with some festive color of Christmas balls and ornies from the $$$ Store.
How about trying a tree? You cut a cake into a triangle and decorate it as a Christmas tree....just a little food coloring and some candies will make a child's eyes shine with delight!
Get yourself inspired, plan a baking theme this year! Your family and friends will love it and will talk about it forever....you might even start a new family tradition.
There is also a new link on our web page under the recipes to "Crockpot Recipes" online. If you love to use your crockpot, you will LOVE this link! Ü
Hope you enjoy the show!

This week we have another great show lined up for you. I don't really have anything prepared for this week for the blog (embarassed face), but I would like to add a recipe that was posted before but is worthy of posting again. If you love pumpkin and don't like to make pies, then this is for you!
MAGIC PUMPKIN BUCKLE
½ C. butter or margarine, melted
1 C. flour
1 C. sugar
4 tsp. b. powder
½ tsp. salt
1 C. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Filling:
3 C. cooked or canned pumpkin
1 C. evaporated milk
2 eggs
1 C. sugar
½ C. packed brown sugar
1 T. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. each ginger, cloves and nutmeg
Topping:
1 T. butter
2 T. sugar
Pour butter into a 9 x 13 baking dish, set aside. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla until smooth. Pour into the prepared pan. In a mixing bowl, beat the pumpkin, milk, and eggs. Combine the remaining filling ingredients and add to pumpkin mixture. Pour over crust mixture (do not stir). Dot with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 for 55 - 60 minutes or until a knife inserted near the centre comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
Excellent, better than pumpkin pie!!!!!
We hope that you enjoy the show!

Show 99
It's ORNIE time!! :) Hello everyone, welcome to our newest Blog Talk Radio Show! Today's show is about ornies, or did you already notice that? Ü Come and join us on the live chat and have some fun with the gals.
Brenda, Vicky and Lucy are sharing their great ideas with everyone to help put you in the mood to make your Christmas crafts. You don't want to miss this show!
Lucy's segment is titled "I phoned in a segment incorporationg the questions about shipping and candle lights--how I handle them"
I read an interesting artcile on the web about the origin of Christmas trees and decorations. You can access this info at http://www.theholidayspot.com/christmas/history/xmas_tree.htm for the history of them.
Soon we will begin the Christmas decorating and baking. Just for a "treat" I am sharing the recipe that I use for Peanut Brittle. It is so easy, quick, and everyone loves it!
MICROWAVE PEANUT BRITTLE
1 C. sugar
½ C. corn syrup
1 C. roasted peanuts (salted)
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. b. soda
In 1 ½ Qt. oven-proof casserole, stir together sugar and syrup. Microwave at high 4 min. Stir in peanuts. Microwave at high 4 min. until golden brown. Add butter and vanilla to syrup, blending well. Microwave at high 1 1/2 min. more. Peanuts will be lightly brown and syrup very hot. Add baking soda and gently stir until light and foamy. Pour mixture onto lightly greased cookie sheet that has been waiting in 250 oven. Spread, allow to cool. Break into pieces and store in airtight container.
You will have to soak the bowl for awhile after to clean it. Ü
Hope you enjoy the candy and the show.... don't forget to sign in and chat with us! Love to "see" you there.

Brenda 'n Vicky
